Irvine Bay Regeneration Company

At Irvine Bay Regeneration Company we are focusing our activities on bringing inward investment to this area of North Ayrshire.

Irvine Enterprise Area is a major current initiative for us, providing significant incentives to businesses that relocate in the Enterprise Area. Excellent infrastructure and strong transport links, mean that Irvine Bay is on the map as a place where businesses can invest and grow.

Some of the incentives available are specific to the life sciences sector. Other sectors which may be particularly interested in what’s on offer here include data centres, engineering and manufacturing.

North Ayrshire is already home to a number of globally recognised organisations such as Magnox , EDF , UPM, GSK, DSM, Sigma Aldrich, and Chemring.

The Irvine area offers a range of benefits to businesses including a skilled labour market, high quality specialist supply companies and a supportive approach to planning. The location is also well known for its excellent transport links to the central belt of Scotland and international travel via Prestwick and Glasgow airports.

Since 2006 we have been developing new opportunities for business growth and regeneration. New business accommodation has been created by refurbishing derelict buildings in key locations, new buildings have been created and substantial refurbishment work has been carried out. The flexible workshop space created at Ailsa road is a great example of new accommodation for small businesses. Mixed use developments with both housing and business premises are planned for the harbourside area of Irvine and Ardrossan North Shore where a £70m development will include the expansion of the successful marina.

We are also working to bring physical regeneration to our town centres, such as the current major refurbishment of Irvine's Bridgegate area. Irvine, Ardrossan, Saltcoats, Stevenson and Kilwinning are all within the Irvine Bay area
